My Epic Reading Adventures: Losing Myself In A Book

Chapter 9: Losing Myself In A Book

This week was just one of  THOSE weeks. It wasn't depressing, but it wasn't great. I had a lot of physical issues, minor injuries, and you know those little annoying life events. Needless to say I haven't been feeling so hot. Well maybe I should say I haven't been well, since I am quite warm. I think my air-conditioning is broken. Like I said it just been one of THOSE weeks. However, I didn't find myself having the blues, because I could always lose myself in a good book. That always cheered me up. You just forget about your problems when you are caught up in a good story. Since I was reading a couple of fantasy books it made it particularly fun to escape to a world different that mine. Even though I didn't finish as many books this week, I think the fact that I enjoyed the experience was more important than numbers.

Progress Report

Total of Books Completed This Week: 2
Total of Books Read This Year: 25
Number of Books Left To Complete: 75
Miscellaneous Comments: Yay! I've reached the quarter mark of my 100 books challenge. It's a small victory, but a victory none the less. Shiny! I'm also excited that I got more reading done on my secondary reads Hamlet and North and South. Hmm...I need to pick a new re-read book. I'll let you know what I pick soon.

Eep, sorry to hear you weren't feeling well and that your AC died. But I know exactly what you mean about a good book being the best escape. In 2006, I was in and out of the hospital ever 6 weeks for a failing kidney, and the only thing that could make me forget about needles and surgeries and all that crap were the books my parents kept bringing me. That's why I'll never be a non-reader: books mean way too much to me to ever abandon.

Hope you feel better soon!!!!

Smiles!
