No this is not a review. However, I'm nearly done. I just need to finish the playlist and work out one or two kinks. I've been seeing this questionnaire popping up on some of the other book blogs, so I thought I'd take a crack at it.
Do you snack while you read?
Yes and no. If I'm hungry I'm happy to snack while reading, but if I'm not then I try to stay away from the snacks. Great, now I'm hungry.
Do you tend to mark your books as you read them, or does the idea of writing on your books horrify you?
I used to mark my favorite lines in books, and then right them down on note cards later. I liked having a little quote collection. However, after awhile it became a rather tedious task. Thus, I stop marking in my books. Now I actually feel bad for ever marking in them at all.
How do you keep your place while reading a book? Bookmark? Dog ears? Leaving the book open flat?
I'm fond of the bookmark. The fact that my mother often marks her place by leaving the book open flat drives me nuts. It wrinkles the pages for pity sake. Now I think she started book marking, perhaps she sensed my distress. I do admit that I occasionally dog ear the page that contains my favorite line. That way I don't have to dig though the whole book to find it when I want to blog. It's a light dog ear though.
Fiction, Non-Fiction or both?
I tend to prefer Fiction. I like to escape into a new world. I'm not opposed to reading Non-Fiction, and do read one once in awhile when the mood strikes me.
Are you a person who tends to read to the end of chapters, or are you able to put a book down at any point?
I must read until the end of a chapter. I become very distracted if I can't finish a chapter. I love when authors put those little separations in between scenes in long chapters. It makes having to stop mid chapter almost bearable.
If you come across an unfamiliar word, do you stop to look it up right away?
Not really. It has to be a truly interesting word to make me stop to look it up. I do sometimes take the time to ask someone in the room if they know what a word means. Mostly I just use context clues and read on.
What are you currently reading?
I'm half way through Hannibal Rising. It's pretty dark stuff, but not as worrisome as I thought it would be.
Are you the type of person who can only read one book at a time or can you read more than one at a time?
I could probably read more than one if I really wanted to, but I prefer to read one at a time. This might sound silly, but it just feels wrong to read more than one book at a time. I feel like I'm not giving the characters their deserved attention. Silly I know.
Do you prefer series or stand alone books?
Both are great to me.
Is there a specific book or author that you find yourself recommending over and over?
I often recommend books by Neil Gaiman, because he is one of my favorite authors. I also love Speak and Catalyst by Laurie Halse Anderson. I think I've recommended Wicked by Gregory Maguire once or twice. Oh yeah, I loaned one of my dance students a copy of Twilight. You know before it was a commercial craze. Okay, I'm really trying to let go of how much the film and the disturbing add campaigns have changed my views of the fandom. Still like the book though.
How do you organize your books (by genre, title, author’s last name, etc.)?
The sad story is that I'm not very organized and I'm running out of shelf space. My mom and I though it would be great to have a library room, so we put all our book shelves in one room. Back when we cared we separated everything so there was a section for Non-Fiction, YA, Children's Books, General Fiction, and a small space for Graphic Novels. Then we ran out of shelf space in the General Fiction section and all hell broke lose. Now it's books on the table, books on the stereo, books on the floor. Yeah, basically a sea of books. So sad, but true.
Wow! This was a lot of fun. I might log off now. I don't how long my stupid computer monitor is going to last before it shuts off on its own. I need a new one so bad. Any way, kisses and hugs everyone. See you later.

I prefer to read one at a time too. But lately I've been reading something during the day and another at night :)
Great post :)
